Tips for Healthy Maintanance of Automotive Battery
- In Charged Condition, the Sp.gr. Should be 1.20 to 1.22.
- Keep Vent plugs in tight condition.
- Don't add excess distilled water.
- Terminal wires, lugs should be connected tightly.
- Use Only petroleum jelly (or) Vaseline to the terminals to avoid corrosion .
- If possible, check the battery condition daily or at least 15 days once.
- Keep the battery surface clean and dry.
- Maintain all cell's electrolyte level uniformly.
- Use recommended Battery grade distilled water to top-up the Battery.
- Don't short the terminals & never add acid.
- Don't keep the Battery in discharge condition, recharge the battery as soon as possible.
- If a battery is ideal for more than a month in charge condition, give a bench charge recommended by the manufactures.
- If, vehicle is ideal for more than 10 days, disconnect the Positive terminal(Red), to avoid self discharge.
- Fit recommended AH battery to the vehicle (Don't Fit under (or) over Ah Battery)
- Avoid damaging of the terminal when fixing or removing of lugs.
- If Battery is abnormally heated up or electrolyte Boiling immediately contact Battery service person.
- Never allow the electrolyte level fallen to the top of the plates.
